A boy I watched finished a marathon race for ages 4 and up. His mom said he did great and asked him how he felt. He said sweaty. =)

Family Friendly Joke
Why are frogs always happy? Because they eat what bugs them...
Thanks to one of the twins I watch for the joke. =) The best.

Always Welcome
The other day I was watching two boys and let them know about the symbolism in Psalm 23 when it says, "He anoints our head with oil, cup overflowing." The cup overflowing refers to a Jewish tradition that showed etiquette for how long guests should stay. There were one cup, two cup, three cup, etc. to overflowing guests. Whenever a guest's cup ceased to be refilled, that was a person's cue to leave. With God we have an overflowing cup and are always welcome. Wow.
Well one of the boys asked what would happen if we did not drink the cup; I said we would be missing out and affirmed that was a great question. The other boy said he wondered how many bathrooms God had. =)
PS I learned about the overflowing cup from Rob Koke at Shoreline church in Austin, TX.
New Definition
The other day I was watching two seven year old boys and talking with their nana. One of the boys walked in from watching television in the other room, pointed at me, and said, "Christian Mingle. Heard of it?"
"Yes I have," was my reply.
"Good," he said and then went back to watching a show on cable in the family range.
Later in the car I thought about it and laughed out loud. His nana and I had laughed after he shared also. I told her I had asked the boys to pray that the right man find me.
Well, in the car after laughing aloud, they asked why I laughed. I said I laughed about the Christian Mingle comment. One of the brothers asked what Christian Mingle was. His brother said, "Christian Mingle helps you find your place with God." His brother replied,"I need to find my place with God." They are seven.
=)
PS I assure them God loves them lots so whatever there place is they should know they are very loved.

No I'm not.
Today I watched a three year old boy. He was being really good and playing, and I told him he was pretty cool. He said, " I am not pretty cool, " defiantly. Maybe I should have said really cool instead. Ha ha.

Lying to get a Bible
I'm blogging this for my dad's sake. When he was young, he and his brother went to church. The people at the church asked whose birthday it was. My dad said it was his. His brother said it was not. My dad asked,"When is my birthday?" His brother said," I do not know; but it is not today."
The people at the church gave my dad the benefit of the doubt though it was not his birthday. He got a Bible. That taught him. =)

Smile
I was walking downtown in Austin, TX apparently with a smile- three men were standing outside of a club; one said,"Could I see that smile again?" I turned and smiled. Then he said,"Does your man appreciate that smile?" Smiling I said yes he does, and then thanked Jesus that He likes my smile. =)

Bad Baby
I was watching a few two year old boys who are fraternal twins. They noticed I had a small scratch- owiee- on my hand. They said I needed boo boo juice, looked really concerned, and asked what happened. I told them a baby scratched me and one of them said,"Bad baby," with a look of righteousness on his face. I told him it was an accident but he still had that look; it was funny.

Hmmm
James 4:7 says "Submit to God, resist the devil and the devil must flee." So I'm listening to James or Josh McDonald and he says that trials bring us closer to God. So whether we go through a trial to grow us or whether it is because we are not submitting to Him and are dishonoring Him; the way to get out out of it and feel peace is to submit to God and do things His way which is the right way anyway.
